Katen Jolly RSW, BSW (Child Welfare Specialization), MSW Candidate (Health and Social Care Specialization), Narrative Therapist
Katen is a Registered Social Worker who helps people understand that persistent pain, although a great challenge, does not have to mean the end of one's dreams and aspirations.
When a person experiences persistent pain and severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to untangle. Katen helps clients, who include children, youth, adults and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can live in ways that are consistent with their values, goals, and passions.
Katen’s passion for pain stemmed from the fact that he was a high level multi-sport athlete that was involved in a life altering accident that would lead him down a road filled with serious persistent pain. Learning how life's battles could be won, Katen strives to pass this knowledge on.
Katen is a highly sought after and acclaimed youth and young adult speaker at multiple different locations across the lower mainland. He combines heartfelt inspiration, laugh-out-loud humour, and practical strategies that drive change in a person and community. He works collaboratively and holistically to generate changes that people want to see for themselves. Katen has years of counselling experience and is working towards a post-graduate education degree from the University of British Columbia (Graduation April 2018).
