Dr. Renata Ribeiro (Issy)

Renata Issy M.D.

Renata is an International Medical Graduate from Brazil. She worked as Family Physician for 2 years before moving to Canada, when she also had the opportunity of providing health care services in a rehab clinic, a local jail and promoted smoke cessation programs in her clinic. During her practise, she realized how chronic pain can impact people’s life, leading them to deal with it in different ways. She joined CHANGEpain recently due to her beliefs in patient centered treatments and how individualized treatments are necessary to make a difference in their life.

She is volunteer in the Association of International Medical Graduates of British Columbia and is pursuing her medical career in Canada, hoping to get back to practice soon.

Outside work, Renata enjoys traveling and getting to know new people, places, languages and cultures.
