About MSP Core Pain Program

Our MSP Core Pain Program is a comprehensive 12-month outpatient program focused on diagnosing the root cause of the pain, providing pain care options, making referral suggestions and empowering the patient to transition to rehabilitation services or community care management.

Throughout the 12 months, various types of treatments and therapies are offered to address root causes, educate and support you towards functional recovery, and determine the most effective combination of services needed. Most people will find solutions or something that works for their pain within the 12 months as you move through the assessment and treatment phases.

Program Structure and Purpose

The program is designed to help patients gain greater insights into various aspects of their pain and lives that they can cope when a cure for the pain is not possible. The concepts taught at changepain’s educational interventions include differentiating between acute and chronic pain, minimizing pain behaviors, relaxation, minimizing and eliminating the use of analgesic pharmacotherapies (including narcotics as well as OTC drugs), daily exercise, moderation, stress management techniques and coping with the emotional aspects of chronic pain.

Using a layered care approach, many patients will start off with a series of Trigger Point Injections. If deemed appropriate, patients move on to the next level of care by our pain specialists who use advanced ultrasound or x-ray guided procedures.

You likely will interact with a number our team members but the physician who is overseeing your care is the physician who saw you for your initial consultation. If you have elevated to the advanced level, the first physician you saw will become your most responsible physician.

Alongside treatments, patients get optimal results when they take on the pain neuroscience Group Medical Visits in addition with having individualized sessions with our Allied Health team to enhance functional movement and mind & well-being.

Individualized Allied Health services are covered by third parties, but even without your insurance, we made this available through the Group Medical Visits to have access to our Allied Health team in a group setting.

No symptom is in isolation. It is better resolved with a multi-dimensional approach.
